This is an experimental course. There will be highs and lows and we will refine the experience together. That's a nice way of saying, “hold on.”

• We will be using Google Android for mobile development and Ruby on Rails for server development.
• We will be deploying applications to the Google Android Market and server-side code onto the internet via Heroku.

• Building an API

Can we stay for spring break and do something special? Here is what I propose for March Madness.

These are highly recommended:

• Agile Web Development with Rails (4th edition) highly recommended, get the BETA fourth edition
• Ruby on Rails 3 Tutorial, as well as the free online version of the same book. Really goes well with the above book. Highly recommended, but since it is available online, you should buy the one above, and access this online or buy it if you can.
• The Busy Coder’s Guide to Android Development will be donated by the author, wait until class starts
